Our Commitment to our Customers

SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT

In our business, we depend on the forest as a vital and precious resource. It is therefore only natural that we take pride in maintaining the forests for generations to come. At Hampstead Home Flooring, sustainable forest management is our commitment to a journey of continuous improvement.

Our carefully-considered forestry techniques help us to optimize the value of forestlands so that the wood products we provide commensurate with the needs of society today and in the future.

SELECTIVE HARVESTING AND NATURAL REGENERATION

Allowing forests to restore naturally

Our forest concession areas are managed and controlled under systematic Forest Management Plans, according to the regulations of the relevant authorities.

Our selective harvesting method means we only harvest mature, commercial trees of a specific diameter, on a rotational cycle. Harvested areas are then closed for a prescribed period of time before the next harvest cycle in the same area. This provides younger trees a chance to grow to their full commercial potential, while removing aged trees that would otherwise die naturally, allowing forests to regenerate naturally.

We follow the 10 FSC principles that, among other things, ensure the rights of indigenous peoples, the fair treatment of labor, proper product sourcing and chain of custody documentation, and environmental impact management. Learn more at FSC.ORG..

We are CARB 2 compliant, meaning that our composite wood products (waterproof resilient and engineered wood floors) adhere to the stringent requirements set by the State of California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulating the emission of formaldehyde.

Lacey Act.jpg

We are compliant with the U.S. Lacey Act of 2008 which bans commerce in illegally sourced plants and their products, including timber and wood products.

Floor Score.jpg

To buy a floor that is FloorScore certified simply means that your floor has passed indoor air quality (IAQ) requirements. Since we spend a majority of our time indoors, the quality of the air we breathe is very important to our health.
